'5 a day' He lSmoothie Making Workshop
Young Leader Osman delivered a smoothie making workshop for young people of the pembury community.
Osman developed a smoothie making workshop for the young people who attend the Prembury Centre. He set up a stall, giving information on preventive smoothies that help reduce the risk of long term disease. He made smoothies for the community whilst educating them in nutrition and what you can get from smoothies to help you lead a balanced diet and lifestyle. He later held his workshop having people work in small groups, learning how to make smoothies and what ingredients they need to put in, so it tastes good and is still super healthy.
Those who took part gained increased confidence around being healthy as well as were enabled to develop new relationships while making smoothies with their peers.
Osman would like to do another workshop in the future, next time adding a small PowerPoint presentation informing the young people of what fruit and veg and explain what they can help prevent.
