Affordable & Healthy Meal Workshop
Victoria Omobuwajo developed and delivered an African-themed healthy and affordable cooking workshop for mums and children at a local community centre
About the Project
Victoria became a Young Leader to run a cooking class for parents & their children in Hackney, teaching them to make quick and healthy option African meals at little cost. During the workshop parents and children participated in the preparation of ingredients and learnt how to cook the meal. After eating the food participants were given ingredients and recipe cards to take home and cook.
The workshop saw 7 parents come with their children to enjoy the cooking and food ranging from ages 25 to 45 years old. The class was an effective way to challenge budgeting and health issues by showing participants they can also eat healthy and tasty food for little cost. Out of the parents that attended 100% of them said they would recommend the Victoria’s cooking class to a friend!
Victoria is a Young Entrepreneur who enjoyed her experience as a Young Leader. She wants to develop her Sunmo Foods Plantain Crisps Business and continue to deliver workshops encouraging communities to eat healthy and affordable foods.
