Covid-19 documentary - Sapphire Community Group
Capturing the experiences, pressures and struggles of NHS and key workers during Covid-19
Sanjida, 18, wanted to capture the experiences of NHS and key workers during Covid-19 to help others understand the pressures and struggles NHS and key workers go through. She also hoped to create a film that would encourage viewers to support the NHS and key workers, and be mindful of how they travel from different places and transport.
She wrote a script based on research on NHS workers mental health and filmed the piece near her home in Waltham Forest. Once edited, it was made available on the Youtube channel of Sapphire Community Group so that other young people could access the film.
Managing a film shoot and editing during lockdown created a number of challenges for Sanjida, while also building her confidence in adhering to a managerial role and adopting its responsibilities.
Sanjida said “I aim to create more documentaries that best serve the public’s interests whilst also addressing crucial issues and injustices in our current society.”
