Help the Homeless
Raising awareness of homelessness and the difficulties homeless people face
About
Young Leaders gave a presentation on the work that the Cardinal Hume Centre does for the local community and wrote and performed a drama piece to highlight the difficulties homeless people face. They also consulted with Cardinal Hume homeless shelter to prepare packs to give to homeless people to help them during the winter.
Impact
The Young Leaders sourced and prepared packs to benefit 36 beneficiaries through the Cardinal Hume Centre. The performance was shown to the lower school community to help them empathise with homeless people. With their performance materials the Young Leaders bid for and won an additional £1,000 from First Give to donate to the charity.
