Kensington Aldridge Academy football exchange
Football exchange project to break down barriers
The project aimed to break down barriers and improve confidence in meeting new people by bringing two scholls across the city together to train, play matches and celebrate each other.
The group took part in workshops around communication and confidence, then worked together to run an event for the other football team when they came to visit. The team made a film about their experiences and wrote and delivered speeches at the welcome event.
The group reported improved confidence and friendship between their own group and the young people they met on the exchange. They also all earned a Level 1 in Leadership.
“Meeting new people and knowing new life skills that I never knew before”
“I really enjoyed the activities I participated in because it gave me a chance to socialise with others and think outside the box”
