Muay Thai Fitness classes
Young Leader Shounde held a Mauy Thai taster session, showing young people the importance of self-defence
About
Shounde felt it was very important that young people are conscious of their fitness and wellbeing. He was heavily involved in his muay thai training sessions in the past and really benefited from them and young people had also been asking me to run sessions. Given the clear demand he decided to host his own muay thai taster session.
Impact
With 14 people attending he event, the session really helped young people to be aware of how they can keep safe and shounde was able to give them confidence about what to do in a threatening situation.
Future Developments
With the success of the pilot taster, Shounde is eager to turn his Muay Thai sessions into a more long term project and will be working with Coin Street to make this happen.
