Talks, demonstrations and stalls on Afro Caribbean hair and embracing natural beauty
The Young Leader, Wilcia, wanted to give people the confidence in their Afro Caribbean hair. By holding talks, demonstrating hair styles and hair care, the event taught people about their hair and to embrace their natural beauty. Local businesses for natural beauty were invited along and the event was held in the local community centre.
The Young Leader received outstanding feedback, one participant said “it was engaging and insightful. There were different stalls reaching out to black people and how best to care for our hair. The panel was very encouraging and taught us how to wear our crowns”. The Young Leader has continued to vlog about natural beauty to inspire others.
