Sixth Form Library
Creating the first Fulham Boys School Sixth Form Library
The project aimed to provide textbooks and non-fiction books for every subject on offer at the FBS Sixth Form. Further reading is essential for exams and higher education applications and the school did not have all the books needed. It would also help disadvantaged students (approximately 40% of students at the school) to get access to books and textbooks that otherwise they would have never bought.
The teachers compiled a list of all the essential books for the different subjects – these were purchased and are now available for all the 120 students to borrow and read. The project has been a great success as students are taking books out and recommending them to peers studying the same subject.
The Young Leader said that the project was a good kickstarter for the library but the school still needs more books and he will continue growing the library to help more students.
