State of Mind
Young Leader Bea held a mental health workshop equipping young people to manage both their own and other's mental health.
About
The project aimed to educate and stimulate discussion among young people about an often taboo subject. By providing them with research that focuses on the social aspects of our mental health, the project sought to provide young people with knowledge and skills to help maintain good mental health. Bea delivered a Powerpoint presentation discussing various areas of research related to social relationships and depression and performed an exercise which promoted discussion and reflection of ideas.
Impact
6 young people gained knowledge around a subject that directly impacts on their wellbeing. They felt more confident in their understanding and ability to think about depression, ways of managing depression and speaking about it among their peers.
Future Developments
Bea would like to roll out more workshops to young people across London and create stronger networks with young people in the future.
