Waterloo Youth Strategy
Waterloo Youth Strategy was a youth consultation event to find out what activities young people want in their communities.
Tammie and Kimane held a youth consultation event at the Artworks in Elephant and Castle to see what kind of activities young people would like to see delivered to their communities. This involved a wide range of events throughout the day, facilitated with support from other young people.
Events Included a DJ workshop, Questionnaire on Enterprise/Youth Activities and spoken word performances all facilitated by other young professionals. Young people were able to meet with these professionals, hear their stories gain inspiration from them. There was also a job/volunteers board created on the day, highlighting the opportunities currently available to young people as well as careers advisors for them to meet and talk with. Each young person who attended left with a sense of satisfaction and empowerment.
Tammie and Kimane both would like to hold a similar or the same event again in the future. They want to continue to empower young people and help them become aware of their skills and show them that they can achieve whatever they want to so long as they are willing to put in the hard work and dedication.
