WeMove Creative Festival

A full day of events including Workshops, speed-networking and a show.

Fatouma Ayeh and 5 other Young Leaders of Haringey Unchained and Haringey Sixth Form College came together to bring about a creative festival for young people in the Haringey area. Working with professional writers, choreographers and technicians, they hosted workshops, speed-networking sessions and performed a show.

Through creative writing, participants gained more confidence, being placed in an environment where they were sure they had a voice and the freedom to be vocal about their opinions. This was seen in the workshops and speed networking sessions. The show itself, written, choreographed and performed by students, was also a huge success with an audience of over 40 people. The creative festival also gained press coverage which helped them to spread the message of Haringey Unchained even further.

Future Developments

The Haringey unchained group intend to take a short break before meeting up again, then discussing and applying what they’ve learned from this project into yet another, bigger better creative festival.
