Westminster Foodbank Project
Students presented to their school community - encouraging others to volunteer and donate to their local food bank
About
The Young Leaders wanted to highlight the plight of those having to use food banks by giving a presentation to their school community alongside a collection for non-perishable goods and buying additional supplies for the food bank to distribute.
Impact
250 pupils participated in the presentation the Young Leaders gave and since then 30 young people have volunteered at the food bank from the school. One person that benefitted from the foodbank said “(I) became ill and lost my job, fell into debt – this has provided me with much needed food.”
